Job Description

• Perform basic welding (SMAW/SAW/GTAW/GMAW), gouging and fabrication work in accordance to requirements specified in the manufacturing drawing. Knowledge in cladding process (especially PEC and FRONIUS will be a great advantage)
• Read blue prints
• Transport and set up work piece using overhead cranes or other lifting tools
• Advise the best welding method in accordance to the welding procedure and requirement specified in manufacturing drawings and process controller travellers
• Ensure that welds comply with the non-destructive test requirement carried out by independent or in-house Quality Control requirement
• Remove slag after welding
• Control the usage of welding electrodes, wires and flux and avoid unnecessary wastage
• Ensure that electrodes are preheated before used for welding
• Report to immediate supervisor when abnormalities occur during the welding process
• Ensure that welding cables are not coiled and only required lengths are in use during welding
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by Immediate Supervisor

Requirement:

• Trade Certificate in General Welding or completed Primary Education with experience in Welding
